Interesting Day in History

This morning, I was listening to the news talk about Ted Kennedy's death, and I was wondering what other things have happened on Aug 26th. For some reason, I thought it was rather interesting, so I looked it up.

Today is a pretty important date in history!

(1920) The 19th Ammendment allowing women to vote was certified by Secretary of State Bainbridge Colby.

(1939) The first major league baseball game was televised.

(1958) Alaska voted to become a state.

(1992) Hurricane Andrew made its second landfall in Louisianna.

Pretty neat stuff.
