Sunday, Sunday

We had a great family day today. We all went jogging/walking together, and then we made Taco Soup and Vegetable Soup. It was a good day for soup. Morgan has been driving me crazy to make banana smoothies. So, we made smoothies with milk, bananas, equal, and ice. All of it was YUMMY.

NOOOO....The poor Titans lost. My parents were at the game too. Whenever I see the Titans on TV, I always think of the Goovenest Fan of the Game contest they always had (have?) there. One time, my dad won it. There used to be a man who sat next to us who would jiggle his belly every week to try to win. If someone in your section won, the entire section got Papa John's pizza.

As I have been using my Polar watch when exercising, it has made me think more about medical devices and Electronic Health Records. If they can make so many cool gadgets that can interface with a computer, why isn't there some kind of standard to capture that data and store it in other applications. I would love to be able to upload my Polar Watch data to my doctor and let him see how my heart is performing during my exercise. I would think he would like it too. Of course, Bond Clinician has a great patient portal that will let the patient type that data in. That is cool, but it would be even better if it could automatically capture it. From a development perspective, these devices (and other more medically useful ones) all store data differently and there isn't a real standard on how to get that data into the EMR. Some day....
